You’ve just got to go wild when a major museum loaded with great cars decides to have a show with something as delightfully off the wall as Saab as its centerpiece. That, however, is what the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia has on deck, beginning February 23 and running through March 17. The presentation is entitled The Saab Spirit Lives On, and will include 18 cars from the personal collection of Bill Jacobson, the owner of Sports Car Service in Wilmington, Delaware, and a top Saab restorer who has been profiled in Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car.

Among the featured Saabs will be Bill’s one-of-six 1956 Sonett 1, a Barber Saab Pro Series formula car and a 1996 Saab Talladega Challenge 900. The event actually gets under way on Friday, February 22, with an evening launch party centered on a talk by Victor Muller, the founder of Spyker Cars and the final CEO of Saab before it entered bankruptcy, discussing his efforts to revive the Swedish icon.
